摘要: Abstract A probe permitting the determination of velocity magnitude and direction at every point for a steady or time-varying state within molten metal is described. Understanding working principle this sensor founded on an experimental study flow liquid around cylindrical magnet. Examples distributions plotted from room temperature (mercury) up to 670°C (aluminium alloys) flows containing vortices are presented. Results indicate that local velocities range 0–10 m s−1, with sensitivity order 1 mm can be measured in baths temperatures as high 720°C.
