Reduction in blood glucose values following indomethacin therapy for patent ductus arteriosus.

摘要: Purpose: To evaluate the effects of indomethacin on blood glucose values in premature infants with patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). Methods: Twenty-five very low birthweight PDA were given 0.2 mg/kg, i.v., for up to three doses. We examined relationship between and infusion rate before after therapy. Results: There was a significant reduction 12 96 h following i.v. therapy. Eleven 25 (44%) had below 40 mg/dL 60 (mean 32.7 h) initial dose. Although during first constant (3.56~0.98 mg/kg per min), decreased from 96~32 at starting point 75~29 (P<0.05). The maximum 51.6~34.7 50.4~20.2%.
