摘要: Objectives Spinal canal tumours constitute a minor part of CNS invading neoplasm. However, due to their damaging influence on the spinal cord and roots, they cause serious clinical problems can lead severe disability. The aim this study is review material collected spine at Department Neuropathology over past ten years. Material methods One hundred eighty five histopathological examinations were evaluated between August 1997 2007. group patients included 94 females 91 males age 18 79 years with mean 53. Results Apart from typical intraspinal (i.e. astrocytomas ependymomas), extraspinal tumours, meningiomas, schwannomas, neurofibromas), rare neoplastic non-neoplastic tumour-like changes occur in same localizations. These conditions include: capillary haemangioma, paraganglioma filum terminale, meningeal gliomatosis, different variants cysts such as dermoid cyst, synovial cyst aneurysmatic bone like giant cell tumour, chordomas, intramedullary metastatic carcinomas. Conclusions This paper presents discusses lesions data special attention paid conditions, which are reviewed more detail.
