摘要: We report two unusual cases of a 17-month-old boy with previously undiagnosed lumbar dermal sinus tract terminating in an intradural dermoid cyst and holocord edema or syrinx, presenting paraparesis sphincter dysfunction secondary to intramedullary abscess 26-month-old infected abscess, recurrent episodes meningitis hydrocephalus. Pre-operative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies these patients were initially confused for spinal cord tumor; however, the presence associated made this diagnosis neoplasm less likely. Total excision tract, debulking drainage through L1-L5 osteoplastic laminoplasty midline myelotomy, followed by long-term antibiotic therapy resulted good functional recovery. Post-operative MRI spine showed removal cyst, decreased inflammatory granulation tissue resolution syrinx. also performed literature review determine cumulative experience management rare clinical setting.
