A YAC contig region Chromosome (Chr) 10 (MMU10) that demonstrates conserved linkage with distal portion Chr 21 (HSA21) has been constructed. The contains all known genes mapped in both defines proximal homology MMU10 HSA22, evolutionary junction HSA21 HSA22 on MMU10. It consists 23 YACs 2 PACs, covers 3.2 Mb average marker density this is 1 marker/69 kb. Nine 22 expressed sequences are here first time mouse, two newly characterized sequences. also 12 simple sequence repeats (SSRs) 16 PAC endclone markers. fragmentation analysis was create a physical map 2.2 contig. Cloning corresponding proven difficult, includes segments absent from previously described ready maps HSA21.
