摘要: Abstract Experimental decision-making research often uses a task in which participants are presented with alternatives from they must choose. Although tasks of this type may be useful determining measures (e.g., preference) related to explicitly stated alternatives, neglect an important aspect many real-world environments—namely, the option-generation process. The goal present is extend previous literature that fills void by presenting model attempts describe link between use different strategies and subsequent process, as well resulting choice characteristics. Specifically, we examine relationship strategy use, number order generated options, quality, dynamic inconsistency. “Take First” heuristic operates ill-defined tasks, based on our assumptions. An experiment involving realistic (sports) situation was conducted suitable (athletes) test predictions model. Initial results support model’s key predictions: producing fewer options result better more consistent decisions.
