Toxicity of 40 herbicides to the green alga Chlorella vulgaris

摘要: The effects on the green alga Chlorella vulgaris of 40 herbicides in 19 different chemical structure classes and with 11 dissimilar modes action were studied through 96-h acute toxicity tests. Experimental results indicated that average acetolactate synthase (ALS)-inhibiting to C. was close those acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACCase)-inhibiting lipid synthesis-inhibiting protoporphyrinogen oxidase (Protox) inhibitor. Their toxicities higher than microtubule process inhibitor, mitotic glutamine inhibitors, 5-enolpyruvyl-shikimate-3-phosphate (EPSP synthase) inhibitors. auxin lowest among all tested photosynthesis-inhibiting highest.
