摘要: After unilateral total iridectomy, maximum accommodation inducible by corneal iontophoresis of carbachol in rhesus monkeys was approximately 40% less the iridectomized than contralateral untouched eyes, irrespective age. Ultrasonographically measured anterior chamber shallowing and lens thickening were also eyes. Neither submaximal induced intramuscular pilocarpine infusion nor midbrain stimulation differed intact The authors hypothesize that at cholinomimetic drug-induced contraction, iris sphincter muscle pulls ciliary body farther forward inward does contraction alone, allowing additional rounding and, consequently, accommodative power.
