摘要: • Fourteen rhesus monkeys, aged 1 to 24 years, underwent permanent implantation of a bipolar stimulating electrode into the Edinger-Westphal nucleus and complete unilateral or bilateral iridectomy. Slit-lamp Scheimpflug videography lens slit-lamp goniovideography equator, zonule, ciliary body allowed direct real-time observation video recording movements these structures during centrally stimulated accommodation disaccommodation. Scalloping capsule at zonular insertion sites was clearly visible disaccommodation even when zonules were folded. During accommodation, became axially thicker, ring narrowed, and, high levels acommodation, fibers slackened folded moved downward. With increasing age concomitantly decreasing accommodative amplitude, excursions all diminished, so that in oldest animals, they very minimal absent. Maximum amplitude declined with on time scale similar for cholinomimetic drug-induced monkey voluntary human.
