摘要: A model was developed to calculate the vapor pressure losses and characterize flow regimes on cathode side of a multitube, vapor-anode, alkali-metal thermal-to-electric converter (AMTEC) cell, with internal chevron's radiation shields. The dusty gas used predict over wide range pressures, including free-molecular, transition, continuum regimes. Results showed that multitube AMTEC cell is typically in transition regime, loss shield accounts for about 50% total losses. An analysis also performed optimize conical geometry minimum loss.
