摘要: Abstract Objective The purpose of the study was to evaluate frequency asymmetric visual field loss at presentation in patients with normal-tension glaucoma (NTG) and high-tension (HTG). Design A retrospective cross-sectional design used. Participants Four hundred three NTG 337 consecutive HTG (consecutive diagnoses between 1986 1996). Intervention Analysis unilateral presentations HTG. fields fellow eyes were compared determine side more severe loss. For patients, relationship greater corresponding intraocular pressure (IOP) investigated. Main outcome measures Humphrey analyzer mean defect (MD) diurnal IOP. Results In group, 101 (25%) presented proportion cases decreased increasing age (chi-square test for trend=26.9; P = 0.001). 104 (31%) trend=4.6; 0.03). Right left had an equal chance having being advanced damage bilateral cases. Conclusions similar patients. Patients likely be younger end range. population we studied, eye frequently onset 2.1 times present a than right eye. showed affected side.
