摘要: By combining a relationship- and strengths-based approach, the article suggests that, with onset of progressive cognitive impairment, verbal, nonverbal, embodied exchanges can function as meaning-making processes for life-partner co-carers. These sustain sense relatedness, which has been shown to increase wellbeing. The identifies gaps in knowledge practice limitations that result from deficit approach dementia research care currently dominates field. Suggestions future development interventions are included. In addition, challenges theoretical assumptions about meaning-making, arguing reexamination dementia-affected couplehood processes.
