摘要: Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is a universal solvent widely used in many fields, from basic research to industrial applications. At low concentration, it the most important cryoprotectant agent against cellular damage caused during freeze-thaw cycle. Although effects of this cosolvent on physico-chemical properties lipid bilayer have been extensively studied with both vitro and vivo experiments, molecular mechanism cryopreservation not completely understood. Cholesterol (Chol) represents one essential cell membrane component fundamental maintain integrity fluidity membrane. Here we report study effect DMSO stability Chol-containing model membranes. We investigated thermal membranes formed by dipalmitoylphospatidylcholine (DPPC) DPPC/Chol means Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) measurements. It well known that cholesterol reduces DPPC vesicles also pre-transition abolished. Our results show induces stabilization liposomes increasing pre- main transition temperatures. In similar was observed for indicating capable stabilize even presence sterol. Moreover, direct inspection hydration degree bilayers, evidenced role played as connected polar head groups.
