摘要: Resorbable calcium phosphate fibers are of particular interest to reinforce biodegradable bone substitutes for load-bearing applications. The aim the present study was prepare calcium-deficient hydroxyapatite (dHAp) whiskers with a molar Ca/P ratio 1·5 by hydrothermal synthesis and transform them β-tricalcium (β-TCP) subsequent thermal treatment. For synthesis, tripolyphosphate used different amounts 2-propanol were added adjust pH. Average whisker lengths 160 µm obtained at content 27 volume-percent. However, 33% dicalcium anhydrate (DCPA) as secondary phase. amount DCPA could be reduced increasing 2-propanol. Whisker samples consisting 88% dHAp 12% selected investigate microstructural changes phase transformations during Polycrystalline single -TCP short after treatment 1125°C.
