摘要: OBJECTIVE To assess the expression of forkhead transcription factors (FOX) in normal prostate and diseases, as since first FOX was identified, its family members have been implicated a variety cellular processes, including embryonic development disease. MATERIAL AND METHODS We analysed set 12 different genes by quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction zones, cancer, lymph node metastases, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), xenografts several cell lines. RESULTS There were striking differences among various members; most prominent high FOXF1 FOXF2 transition zone BPH, their decreased cancer. Interestingly, although FOXF are stroma-specific, some androgen-independent cancer uniquely express these two genes. FOXD1 FOXD2 more highly expressed metastases. FOXA1 FOXC1 an opposite pattern for androgen-dependent growth lines xenografts. CONCLUSIONS Various differentially zones malignant outgrowths. The profiles suggest role epithelial to mesenchymal transition, while is linked androgen-associated status
