摘要: We test the longstanding hypothesis, known as dive constraint that oxygenation demands of diving pose a on aquatic mammal brain size.Using sample 23 cetacean species we examine relationship among six different measures relative size, body and maximum duration. Unlike previous tests include size covariate perform independent contrast analyses to control for phylogeny. show does not limit in cetaceans therefore provide no support hypothesis. Instead, is main predictor duration cetaceans. Furthermore, our findings it important conduct robust evolutionary hypotheses by employing variety dependent variable, this case, size.
