摘要: In a recent publication in Biological Reviews, Manger (2006) made the controversial claim that large brains of cetaceansevolvedtogenerateheatduringoceaniccoolingintheOligoceneepochandnot, asisthecurrentlyaccepted view, as basis for an increase cognitive or information-processing capabilities response to ecological social pressures. further argued dolphins and other cetaceans are considerably less intelligent than generally thought. this review we challenge Manger’s arguments provide abundant evidence modern cetacean order support complex abilities driven by forces.
