摘要: Pervasive developmental disorders represent a group of neurodevelopmental that affect children early in their development. Autistic disorder is the best described these disorders, yet even this term covers broad clinical presentations. Various immune system abnormalities, including autoimmunity and defects different subsets cells, have been reported with autistic disorder, suggesting factors may play role development autism. Based on anecdotal observation, vaccination was proposed to cause autism some children, but several controlled studies failed support claim. Intravenous immunoglobulin infusions has tested as immunotherapy for autism, although preliminary results are inconclusive there risk potentially fatal transmission blood-borne pathogens. To examine issue, intensive well-controlled epidemiological bench need be carried out defined carefully study subjects establish cellular molecular basis against which effects each factor can examined.
