摘要: Abstract Part I described the static performance (i.e. under a monotonic rate of loading) carbon-fibre reinforced-plastic (CFRP) composites which had been repaired by adhesively bonding and co-curing, second section CFRP prepreg to original parent material. The mechanical behaviour these repair joints, as well adhesive forming joint, were determined both in unaged condition after ageing. hot/wet ageing joints materials was simulated immersing water at 50°C. In II, properties have used conjunction with finite element analysis (FEA) determine failure criteria would predict experimentally observed paths strength adhesively-bonded joints. Two material models for adhesive: linear elastic elastic–plastic. also composite. first model, composite assumed be homogeneous orthotropic smeared properties. second, it modelled combination individual plies various orthotropic/anisotropic properties, depending upon fibre orientation angle. Three possible types analysed order expected loads. general agreement between experimental observations, predictions path loads found good.
