摘要: The wood fibre used by the paper industry originates primarily from forests. Apart Gmelina arborea , there are other fast-growing plant species whose characteristics yet unknown. In order to relieve pressure and demand on G. arborea, this work was aimed at characterizing comparing fibres of four tree ( Parkia biglobosa Arzadirachta indica Alstonia boonei Cassia siamea ) with intention elucidating their suitability for pulp industry. trunk samples in study were collected Botanical Garden University Nigeria, Nsukka, while conducted Plant Anatomy Laboratory Department Science Biotechnology, Enugu State-Nigeria. results showed that mean length ranged 1.00 mm P. 1.70 A. . lengths did do not vary significantly (P < 0.05). Runkel ratio 0.624 3.227 across recording lowest values. Conclusively, is another good paper-making potential could substitute already known
