摘要: Ventilatory acclimatization to hypoxia (VAH) is the time-dependent increase in ventilation that occurs during sustained exposure hypoxia. The mechanism for VAH remains elusive. We sought determine whether a deficiency availability of carotid body dopamine increased ventilatory responsiveness awake goats. This was based on evidence (DA) primarily an inhibitory neuromodulator (CB) function. hypothesis tested by intracarotid infusion DA (5.0 micrograms kg-1 min-1) throughout VAH. not prevented infusion, failing support hypothesis. conclude release within CB probably responsible However, responses acute after either prolonged or may have similar mechanisms.
