摘要: Submarine valleys may be classified into three groups. One group resembles youthful river valleys, another fault grabens, and a third glacial troughs. There are many reasons for believing that the of this last have been shaped by excavation. They found exclusively off glaciated coasts. contain deep-rimmed depressions, trough-shape, relatively straight walls characteristic glacially excavated valleys. Evidence presence moraines within these shelf-troughs has discovered. Finally continental shelves coasts much deeper on average than those unglaciated areas.
