摘要: The estimation of caving depth is particular interest in the oil industry. During drilling process, rock classification problem studied to analyze concentration cuttings at vibrating shale shakers through images. To date, based on images has not been treated literature. This paper presents a new system feature extraction. extract texture descriptors, cutting are first mapped common space where they can be easily compared. Then, textural features obtained by applying multi-scale and multi-orientation approach use Gabor transformations. Two different classifiers developed; separates using soft decision Euclidean distance, second performs hard thresholding procedure. A detailed mathematical formulation developed presented. verified real data from petroleum wells. Several simulations illustrate performance proposed model wellbore Colombian basin. correct rate database containing 17 estimates 91.2%. Resumen La estimacion de la profundidad que provienen los derrumbes usualmente se presentan en las caras del pozo o tambien llamados cavings es gran interes industria petrolera. Durante el proceso perforacion un pozo, problema clasificacion rocas ha sido estudiado con fin analizar concentracion recortes ripios zarandas vibratorias traves imagenes cavings.
