摘要: OBJECTIVE: The study compared three models of police responses to incidents involving people thought have mental illnesses determine how often specialized professionals responded and they were able resolve cases without arrest. METHODS: Three sites representing distinct approaches handling persons with illness examined—Birmingham, Alabama; Knoxville Memphis, Tennessee. At each site, records examined for approximately 100 dispatch calls "emotionally disturbed persons" examine the extent which specially trained responded.
