摘要: The purpose of this study was to assess the long-term efficacy preoperative radiotherapy for locally advanced low rectal cancer. Between April 1990 and June 2005, all patients who underwent surgery cancer with a pretreatment diagnosis T3 or resectable T4 without distant metastasis were enrolled. total dose radiation 45 Gy. Patients partial complete response defined as responders (RT-R) others non-responders (RT-NR). did not receive termed non-radiotherapy group (NRT). endpoint overall survival local and/or metastasis. There 24 in RT-R, 26 RT-NR, 40 NRT. Gastrointestinal complications commonly observed groups. RT-R had significantly higher incidence genitourinary complications. Five-year rate 79.6% 58.9% 58.8% difference significant favor over (P = 0.015, 0.024, respectively). recurrence-free 100% 81.5% 74.9% improved control compared (P = 0.034, 0.021, metastasis-free statistically different among Survival benefit limited responders. Considering increased risk adverse effects, identification predictors radiosensitivity is required order provide most suitable treatment individual patients.
