摘要: Attenuation measurements through extreme rain in a climate wind tunnel are carried out to benchmark the possibility of wireless data transmission at 77 GHz during adverse weather conditions. Based on network analyzer and external E-band mixers, propagation loss is obtained over distance 180 m using corner reflector end 90-m tunnel. Comparing results prediction models like ITU-R P.838, large deviation several tens dB/km was found for high rates when drop size distribution neglected. In paper, authors use known attenuation based functions explain measured testing, demonstrating variation specific under heavy microwave frequencies.
