摘要: In the Simpson Desert of western Queensland fire is being used increasingly by pastoralists to manipulate hard spinifex (Triodia basedowii) pastures. this study I investigated short-term (20 month) effects cattle grazing on hummock grasslands regenerating after in Desert. Dung counts were determine if grazed preferentially areas fire. Cattle exclosures and vegetation surveys affected structure species composition reduced cover, height, vertical density richness regrowth vegetation. Grazing cover Ptilotus polystachyus proportion Eragrostis eriopodia individuals bearing flowers seed. visibly disrupted microbiotic soil crusts. It recommended, as a precaution until additional data available, that be rested from during first post-fire wet season. Resting period will assist establishment provide opportunities for grasses set
