摘要: Altered expression of cell cycle regulators represents a frequent event in both small and non-small lung cancer (NSCLC). Despite several studies that reported involvement tumor suppressor genes, such as p53 pRb , the development progression cancer, contrasting opinions exist about prognostic role this protein neoplasm. We developed an immunohistochemical assay suitable for detection pRb2/p130 last discovered member retinoblastoma gene family, on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections. evaluated 135 specimens, performed Western blot analysis subset 30 corresponding lysates. A high correlation between data results ( P = 0.0004) was found. statistically analyzed relationship overall survival (OS) time according to different histological types 105 patients. did not find any OS cancers, whereas NSCLCs direct pRb2 found adenocarcinoma 0.0002) squamous carcinoma histotypes. According univariate analysis, factor which lost or reduced correlated with shorter 0.0001) when considered together histotype. This study demonstrates first potential independent value formalin-fixed, sections from immunoreactivity can be used predict patients NSCLC and, therefore, may represent new marker.
