摘要: Background: Polyglycolic acid mesh (PAM) reinforcement of colonic anastomoses were evaluated. Methods: Twenty female albino rabbits divided into two groups. Each rabbit underwent segmental resection with single-layer anastomosis. In one group rabbits, PAM length equal to the circumference anastomosis was applied. Rabbits sacrificed on postoperative day 10 and peritoneal adhesions, burst pressure, histopathological characteristics Results: The average pressure for control groups 149±15.95 mmHgand 224±124.5 mmHg, respectively (p=0.578). All burst, whereas only five (50%) (p<0.03). There no anastomotic leakage in group, three leaked (p=0.210). collagen fiber density amount neovascularization lower than (p=0.001 p=0.002, respectively). adhesion value 1.6±0.51 2.9±0.31 (p<0.0001). Conclusion: new fixed PAM-reinforced technique resulted an increased risk adhesion, but also higher non-burst anastomoses.
