摘要: Abstract Mortality following surgery has decreased enormously since the introduction of anaesthesia. It long been recognized that post-operative patients benefit from special attention immediately and recovery rooms are essential for management these patients. Nonetheless some 20000 die after each year in United Kingdom. Most, but not all, can be identified as high risk before surgery. Intraoperative mortality is low period probably where most at risk. Tightly controlling physiological values providing additional support during this may avoid preventable deaths. Access to critical care facilities important achieve this. The Kingdom relatively limited provision intensive high-dependency care.
