摘要: This paper examines the relationship between domestic water use and socioeconomic, environmental, spatial parameters at household level in a small rural village northern Minas Gerais State. Five methods are used direct observation, interviews, self-reporting by households, regression analysis, statistical mapping. Results show that is characterized 1) generally low but widely fluctuating values per person day, 2) sharing of sources 3) multiple individual 4) avoidance heavily contaminated stream sites, 5) predominance socioeconomic factors use. Households owning their own supply used, on average, 25.3 liters person/day those without 9.0 l, with higher local streams among latter. Water varied spatially. The house quality, latrine ownership, type source, utility index were significantly correlated Implications these simple more deficient sanitary facilities for potential water-borne disease transmission briefly discussed suggestions made further improvements. study confirms appropriateness application interview, microgeographical quantitative studies.
