摘要: Raman scattering experiments have been carried out on powdered samples of cupric oxide (CuO) grown with the 18O isotope. The phonon frequencies measured and compared to those Cu16O. isotopic frequency shifts modes also predictions a lattice dynamics model. Previous low temperature Cu16O revealed mode at 240 cm-1 that was attributed magnetic excitation. present results are consistent this interpretation in same is observed be unshifted spectra from Cu18O temperatures. A broad peak higher energies. This feature has maximum about 2100 cm-1, believed arise electronic perhaps, least part, due two-magnon scattering.
