摘要: Abstract DNA barcoding is an efficient method of biological sample identification and it has been advanced as a promising tool to aid species through use the mitochondrial Cytochrome C Oxidase subunit I (COI) gene standardized region. For variety reasons fishes can be problematic, even for experts, conventional taxonomic studies. So, present study was designed Plectropomus species. Species this highly morphologically ambiguous genus were identified COI sequence analysis. The fish samples collected from seas South Andaman during 2010–11 using standard traditional keys Food Agriculture Organization (FAO). A protocol adopted PCR amplification 650–655 bp genes, which bidirectionally sequenced 20 specimens (mean 6 specimens/species). sequences all interrogated analytical tools available on Barcode Life Data System (BOLD) National Center Biotechnology Information (NCBI) GenBank.
