摘要: To understand the magnitude of prescription opioid abuse in United States, it is critical to determine how many dosage units opioids are ingested nonmedically per year. Using several public and private databases, authors estimated that 2002–2003, among 10.89 million individuals projected have used nonmedically, a minimum 430.61 doses were year (assuming only one dose consumed nonmedical use day individual). This represented about 1/25 all dispensed. estimate provides perspective on should help policy makers enact policies reduce diversion without preventing legitimate access therapy.
