摘要: Monitoring of quantitative EEG (QEEG) parameters in the intensive care unit (ICU) can aid treatment traumatic brain injury (TBI) patients by complementing visual review done an expert. We performed explorative study investigating prognostic value 59 QEEG predicting outcome with severe TBI. Continuous recordings were on 28 TBI ICU Turku University Hospital. computed a set for each patient, and correlated these to patient outcome, measured dichotomized Glasgow Outcome Scale (GOS) at follow-up visit between 6 12 months, using area under receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) as nonlinear correlation measure. For 17 (28.8%), AUC differed significantly from 0.5, most power or variability. The best prediction alpha (AUC = 0.87, P < .01) variability relative fast theta 0.84, .01). results this indicate that provide useful information Novel potential found, should be confirmed later studies. also further evidence usefulness studied preexisting
