摘要: Abstract Indian Major Carp Labeo rohita (Ham.) is the most preferred cultivable fish species under freshwater aquaculture in India. The present study was conducted to characterize bacteria at molecular level and understand its pathogenicity associated with mortality of farmed rohu, . Diseased samples were collected from cultured ponds Nadia, West Bengal, India for isolation pathogen. 16S rRNA gene sequence revealed that isolate 100% identical Acinetobacter baumannii (NCBI Accession Number KT156752). Intraperitoneal injection 2.1 × 10 8  cells/ml causes mortality. challenged had loss mucus reddish lesion near pectoral fin, however there no sign gill. histology experimentally showed hemorrhages shrunken glomeruli densely basophilic nuclei kidney whereas degenerated hepatic tissue increased hepatocyte vacuolation liver. This underlines first time involvement disease outbreak pathology pathogenesis studies this emerging pathogen carps would help management aquaculture.
