摘要: Abstract The aim of this article is to present a video imaging instrument for rapid and non-intrusive monitoring the destabilization dispersed systems such as emulsions or suspensions. Emulsion suspension are associated with two main phenomena: gravitational separation (creaming sedimentation) particle size variation (coalescence, Ostwald ripening, phase inversion, flocculation). All these phenomena can lead significant alterations final product it very important be able detect them at an early stage. Our device coupled image analysis software monitor not only creaming sedimentation boundary oil-in-water water-in-oil but also corresponding vertical gray level intensity profiles in test tube. In addition, coalescence volumes creamed, aqueous oil phases followed all times during ageing emulsions. A temperature controlled bath makes possible study situ effect on This particularly useful finding accelerated processes . equipment allows three tubes simultaneously used sedimenting (e.g. waste water treatment) precipitating solution etc. Several examples applications given.
