No significant differences in cercarial occurred ( p > 0.05) low salinities (0–5.25%), whereas further increases resulted progressive decreases survival. In ≳ 17.5%, were incapable surviving longer than 11 min. A maximum life-span up to 122 h recorded some S. mattheei cercariae. Cercarial infectivity, as indicated by worm returns, reduced progressively with increasing a lethal limit 10.5%. Differences tolerance discussed.
