摘要: A microfiber-enabled Fabry-Perot interferometer (FPI) constructed by splicing a section of microfiber between two cleaved standard single-mode fibers (SMFs) with unique relative fiber cross relationship has been proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The opening air cavity the SMF ends connected serves as an FP also direct sensing head. characteristics FPIs different lengths diameters have studied. force sensitivity high 167.41 nm/N (~200 pm/μe) refractive index (RI) 1330.8 nm/RIU (around RI 1.33) achieved using microfiber-based FPI ~21 μm length ~44 diameter. Such device several merits such simple configuration, compactness reliability in operation owing to extremely low thermal cross-sensitivities.
