摘要: The present study has been carried out in the Ponda watershed of district Rajouri (J&K), northwestern Himalaya to analyze local importance tree species by quantitative ethnobotanical approach and their status availability area. Data was analyzed using relative frequency citation (RFC) use value (UV) index along with Pearson Spearman correlation coefficients. A total 34 were encountered represented 31 genera 22 families. All identified classified into 10 general categories. As per indigenous use, 27 are exploited for firewood followed 15 fodder, 12 each fruits making agriculture tools whereas very few being utilized people various other uses. UV RFC different ranged from 0.02 0.12 0.04 0.80, respectively. coefficient found be higher (0.60) than Spearman’s rank (0.54), which reflects high linear relationship as compared monotonic between UV. showed that Pinus roxburghii an abundant species, 3 i.e. Juglans regia, Ficus religiosa Ulmus wallichiana observed rare. However, according IUCN conservation trees area, regia near threatened vulnerable respectively, also multiple uses locals.
