摘要: Abstract Study objective Ethnobotanical knowledge is proving to be invaluable for drug discovery in the wake of effective prospecting from biodiversity. On other hand, escalating human pressure threatening endogenous flora. Situated at foothill Himalayas, Pakistan boasts rich floristic distribution. However, many lush yet imperiled regions this country has never been explored. It inspired us evaluate and document taxonomic composition, significance medicinal plants associated traditional District Malakand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. Materials methods Vegetation growing Malakand pass hills, was studied data were collected using an open-ended questionnaire, addition interviewing local elderly, knowledgeable persons, herbal practitioners. Relative Frequency Citation (RFC) Use Value (UV) calculated their correlation determined by Pearson coefficient. Results This study encompasses 92 plant species belonging 56 families thriving area. The information gathered includes ethnobotanical inventory pharmacological uses. Quantitative analysis throws light on consistence RFC UV. Asteraceae Lamiaceae most abundant represented 6 each. Shoots used parts (23.6%) wound healing (7.91%) common therapeutic use. Conclusion result obtained implies that inhabitants rely these requirements. Also, statistics reveal that, vegetation can assessed potential leads. urban expansion existence indigenous flora old generation with ancient wisdom perishing. So, it appears imperative preserve knowledge. survey expected contribute novel bioactive constituents, stimulate conservation efforts perturbed promote sustainable exploitation bounty.
