摘要: Sonothrombolysis is the adjunct use of ultrasound during thrombolysis as an augmentation technique that can facilitate clot dissolution. When no thrombolytics are used, we refer to this sonolysis. In setting acute ischemic stroke (AIS), various protocols have been tested with different devices and parameters, or without concomitant contrast material. After years clinical research, much known regarding safety profile low-intensity high-frequency (2 MHz) sonothrombolysis but efficacy remains be proved. This review provides overview trials meta-analyses sonothrombolysis. As entering a new era combined intravenous interventional AIS therapies, it challenge for researchers incorporate in constantly evolving protocols. Proving well-designed randomized controlled trial next-generation noninvasive therapeutic device drug–device combination would substantial impact on future management.
