摘要: This novel research investigated the use of a heuristic process to inform tree-level harvest decisions guided by need maximize interspersion tree species across forest. In process, mingling value for each was computed using both (1) neighbors that were simply different than reference and (2) uniquely from other tree. The averaged stand, which then subject maximization process. Constraints included residual density levels minimum volume levels. two case studies, results suggest index at stand level can be significantly increased over randomly allocated described. we illustrate how this type management suggesting distance between trees similar given initial structure objectives constraints. work represents unique optimization approach one day may as new technologies are developed map location individual in timely efficient manner.
