摘要: Abstract The paper details an investigation of the stand structure and patterns diversity observed in Runcu-Grosi Natural Reserve (western Romania), one best preserved natural mixed sessile oak forests Europe. effect proportion composition on specific was also studied. Comparable with other forests, stands are characterised by a high volume (mean living tree 577 m3 ha−1 dominated plots 675 in pure beech plots), highly differentiated diameter distribution large quantity dead wood, especially (approx. 135 m3 ha−1, compared to 75 in plots). higher coarse woody debris is due reserve, which accounted for about 70% total wood both plots. over proportional representation oak, very low number saplings taller than 1.3 m, indicated declining tendency future. exhibited level species those beech. Where dominant species, percentage present groups (36%), whereas stands, most oaks were surrounded either shade tolerant or (ca. 75%), classed as codominant trees. These species-specific correspond silviculture oak-beech forests: without interventions favour dominance will increase.
