摘要: Background. The segmentation of the common carotid artery (CCA) wall is imperative for determination intima-media thickness (IMT) on B-mode ultrasound (US) images. IMT considered an important indicator in evaluation risk development atherosclerosis. In this paper, authors have discussed relevance measurements clinical practices and challenges that one has to face while approaching paper presents overall review commonly used methods CCA measurement along with different performance metrics been proposed validation. Summary future directions are given conclusion.
