摘要: A two-dimensional, non-entraining, axial-symmetric, steady-state model of a severe storm with rotating updraft is presented. The input data these particular are formulated around the assumption that horizontal wind field fits Rankine vortex and configuration has warm core structure. This represents second in series three which being produced at Saint Louis University. other two carry same basic modelling assumptions differ only parameters chosen to specify data. findings, presented this paper, result from comparisons between calculated by specific under consideration sources: 1) observational data, or deductions therefrom, as reported literature, 2) computed values derived whichever models hierarchy happens rely most heavily on type, accurately observed for each given storm. bases thus rendered more comprehensive using augmented generated different mixes accordance reliability Comparisons sets throughout text summarized conclusion section. Rationale underlying strengths weaknesses discussed. DOI: 10.1111/j.2153-3490.1972.tb01548.x
