摘要: The insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) circulate bound to specific proteins (termed IGFBP-1 through IGFBP-6) that modulate IGF bioactivity in tissues. aim of this study was analyse the effects glucose on binding IGFBPs rat and human serum by means western ligand blotting. Serum samples were incubated with increasing concentrations (0 50 mmol/l), EDTA (25 mmol/l) added inhibit protease activity. To effect protection from activity, pregnant women (reported be very rich proteolytic activity against IGFBPs) previously glucose. Glucose did not affect 125I-IGF IGFBPs. intensity IGFBP-3 bands decreased considerably during incubation. This appeared due endogenous since decrease blocked addition EDTA. incubation produced a marked attenuation disappearance IGFBP-4 bands. In conclusion, our shows does influence either or serum, confirms presence normal non-pregnant demonstrates has no protective action
