摘要: Are overnight urine specimens adequate for characterizing the daily salt intake of individuals, i.e., can specimen replace 24-hour specimen? Data from 142 male participants an ongoing trial on primary prevention hypertension were used to examine this question with correlation analysis and quantile classification. Estimated between true mean sodium excretion was 0.72. Furthermore, 67% individuals in upper third distribution also sodium. Thus, these data are promising regard use individuals. The number collections required estimate accurately individual's a variable interest (e.g., blood pressure) calculated. Given observed intra- inter-individual variation, indicate that 14 measurements needed limit diminution coefficient 10%.
