摘要: The goal of this review paper is two-fold: bringing an updated survey on the literature proposed mechanisms behind low-salinity enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and propose ways to model them based simulations coupling atomic reservoir scales. low salinity water injection (LSWI) presents some advantages over other EOR techniques since it a cost-effective method, has no inherent environmental damage does not affect subsequent stages crude treatment refinement. LSWI particularly interesting for exploration production pre-salt carbonate reservoirs. We couple with molecular modeling methodologies, addressing their use describe via LSWI. From modeling, one can obtain parameters large-scale simulators, thus, improving accuracy. Therefore, approaches are complementary tools optimize Among all involved LSWI, wettability alteration pointed out by several authors as fundamental one, explain EOR. However, there controversies related its cause: salting-in effect, multi-component ionic exchange, pH alteration, electric double layer expansion, fines migration, limited release particles osmotic pressure among main proposals. In sense, have been explored foster theories that possible combining dynamics Ab initio calculations simulators.
