摘要: This study seeks to describe and explain female homicide victimization rates across Europe from 1985 2010. It examines whether cross-national differences in the levels of homicides are due same factors that variation more generally, they product gender dynamics these countries, or reflections regional capturing varying historical cultural trajectories. Pooled time-series analysis 33 countries over four time periods revealed all three explanations salient, although particular measures each set theories did not always perform as expected. The paper concludes understanding macro-level variations requires multifaceted bridge criminological also sensitive socio-historical context.
